HUMANITARIAN AID TO BE SENT TO GAZA AMIDST TRUMP’S UPCOMING VISIT TO THE MIDDLE EAST

The US President Donald Trump, who is preparing to visit Middle Eastern countries, has announced that humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza, which has been under a full blockade by Israel for the past two months. The US Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Mike Huckabee, stated that a humanitarian aid organization will organize the aid to Gaza, with security being provided by the US. The Times of Israel reported that the aid will be provided by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), initially reaching only 1.2 million Palestinians. It is evaluated that Israel and the US aim to force half of Gaza’s population to migrate through this aid.

SOUTHERN DISTRIBUTION POINTS FOR AID

Huckabee expressed yesterday that the parties have agreed on a humanitarian aid mechanism for Gaza. He mentioned that 400 humanitarian aid points will be established in the south of Gaza, and all these points will be located in the south, pushing the population in the north to migrate to the south. Israeli high-level security sources informed the Times of Israel that GHF will establish collection camps defined as “Safe Gathering Area” in the south of Gaza to organize aid distribution.

MIGRATION PRESSURE FOR THE REMAINING HALF OF THE POPULATION

Sources speaking to the Times of Israel stated that GHF officials organizing the aid will establish four secure gathering areas, each with a population of 300,000 in Gaza. However, it will take time even to distribute aid to this population in the initial phase. Moreover, Palestinians living in these collection camps will be allowed to receive 18 kg aid packages from distribution points in southern Gaza once or twice a week, for food aid. Sources mentioned that GHF expects the remaining approximately 1 million population to be accepted by neighboring countries, aiming to expel these individuals from Gaza.

DESTRUCTION OF FOOD SUPPLIES

Due to the blockade imposed by the Israeli occupying forces since March 2, food stocks in Gaza are about to run out. Gaza’s Media Office reported that since the Israeli army started attacks on Gaza on October 7, 2023, they have bombed 29 kitchens and 37 aid distribution centers. The office statement noted that Israel has kept the border crossings closed, preventing the entry of 37,400 aid and fuel trucks into Gaza, leading to more than 65,000 children facing starvation. It was mentioned that 88% of Gaza has been destroyed due to Israeli attacks.
